Yesterday Laura (www.connectedhorsemanship.com) came to Galway to do a day long clinic with Mia and myself, and can I just say wow!
Both myself and Mia learnt so so much from Laura. Her methods of teaching and putting basic manners and groundwork is very simple but makes so much sense to human and horse, and has already made a huge change when handling Mia, and thats only a day later!
Today I went over everything we did yesterday with my boyfriend Peadar, and he too is so impressed at the already difference in Mia. Tasks that used to be difficult are now just a matter of asking her once and its done! and her rug? Not a problem! whew, relief!!
So thanks a million Laura! We really appreciate everything you showed us, and we really enjoyed our day too.
Oh, and when can you come down again!?!

Hey all, wow its quiet around here recently! guess we're all as busy as each other! So we had our second full-day lesson with Laura on Sunday and it went really well. Peadar joined in this time and he got a lot out of it, and feels he's now much better able to work with Mia. the main thing I really got out of our day was how I realised I was doing so much wrong when working with Mia on the lunge line, truely she didn't know what I was asking her to do and thats why she'd get po'ed after a few minutes and start to mess around. Since Sunday, Mia now knows exactly what I'm asking her to do and does it without an attitude (and attitude she's got if she doesn't want to do something!!). I'll keep working on this and by the time Laura comes down next (please, oh please do come visit us again!) we'll have line lunging, and a few other things, perfected! thanks Laura
