‘An Introduction to Horse Sense’, 2pm – 4 pm Sunday 1st June at Rostrevor Equestrian Centre, Green Park Road, Rostrevor.
Would you like to learn more about what makes your horse tick and how you can be a better trainer? You will get the chance to do just this on Sunday 1st of June courtesy of Rostrevor Equestrian Centre and Dr Helen Spence, experienced equine psychologist. Rostrevor Equestrian Centre are celebrating their first anniversary and proprietor Deirdre Daly is keen to promote her philosophy of ‘thinking’ riding, encouraging riders and owners to question why their horse behaves the way they do, and that true riding is a partnership of understanding between horse and human. Deirdre has invited Helen to deliver a lecture/ demonstration on ‘An Introduction to Horse Sense’ followed by a question and answer session. Helen has an honours degree in Psychology and a doctorate on the horse human relationship. She also lectures on horse behaviour to post graduate level and has extensive practical experience working with and educating owners about problem horses and everyday horse training issues. The lecture/demo will begin at 2 pm and will last approximately 2 hours. Admission is £10 for adults, £5 for under 16’s. This is the perfect opportunity to find out more about Helen’s work and philosophy, or to ask questions about your own horse’s behaviour or training issues. You will also see the facilities available at Rostrevor Equestrian Centre in its spectacular setting in Carrickbawn Forest with fabulous views across Carlingford Lough. The centre is situated on Green Park Road, Rostrevor. For further information please contact either Dr Helen Spence on 07773 157428 or Deirdre Daly on 028 4173 8241.
