Just came across this forum, am living in Doneraile, north cork. I bought 2 horses in 2007 and brought them home in may, never owned a horse before so as you can imagine heaps of trouble and headaches, one was 4 and one 21. Did the intelligent horsemanship 5 day foundation course, then when I returned had won tickets to see Parelli in NEC and that was it started parelli in Sept 07 never looked back well on the way to L3 love it, but always looking for other avenues and very interested in the Mark Rashid clinic in July this year, always wanted to see him love his books.
Oh bought a 2 y.o. TB filly 3 months ago so really going for horses, she is going to England with me and my now 6 y.o ISH end May to be started by a Parelli colt starter while I do a whole month of parelli, can't wait for a whole month of horse immersion with no outside distractions.
Anyway looking forward to keeping an eye on this forum to see what people are up to and hopefully meeting some of you, Elaine, Laura etc.

Should not be a problem to do a write up going for the whole month of June, so will be leaving here end May.
Just another add on I am starting a professionl barefoot trimming course with Dan Guerrera next month he has set up a new school in Uk so hopefully will graduate end of year, so also need case studies for this course. I have self taught myself using the internet and Pete Ramey and Jamie Jacksons books and DVD's but still feel that I need to do a proper course to be able to do it correctly, my horses don't have the best feet as they where not shod with thought through the time they have worn shoes which I feel has affected their skeletal balance and my 6 y.o development.
Pictures will come later just need to find out how to (need husband to show me, I am crap with technology)

Thats James Roberts, Thia my TB is being started by him while I do the course in Stoneleigh.
Have to say I like James very good at the foundations and drilling into your head how important foundations are for you and your horse (Did a course in Edenderry with him last October), if you don't have the basics you will have trouble later on when you get to the more advanced levels ie collection etc. thats why I got into this in the first place felt I had no foundtion and was pushed into doing things i was not ready for.
Anyway would love to come up and do something with you one day love the different takes on things, but feel its important to stick with one way until you have the foundations in place then you can pick and choose I will buy your books thats a good start I think.

Small world, it's the same guy Yeah we should definitely meet up for a chat/play, my roots are Brad Weeks/QNH out in Oz which came from the Parelli stuff too so I started from there too. I basically used the QNH/ANH /PNH level 1 stuff as the map to start Ozzie.

I am just doing the first 3 games with Thia and getting respect and rapport, use to trimming, leading etc. she is excellent never been handled so just soaks it up, James will then start here under saddle she will be 3 in 3 months and give me a plan to work with from there, would rather get someone else to do it as not alot of experience horse wise but learning fast and I know what I can do and what I can't but very willing to learn, childhood dream come true.
I have read up on your site and about you since my farming neighbour gave me the article in the Independent I think it was last year or the year before about you (they think I am bananas as they say why don't you just ride him! as I walk down the road working on thresholds), and definitely will think about having some lessons later when we get more into the advanced stuff, all the NH comes from the same master teachers and they all do the same thing but call them differently, i like Parelli as very good homestudy programme, the commercial side and the american huggy side is a different story.
Am now off to work for the afternoon + evening
NB see that Laura is holding an intro to her connected horsemanship close to where I live on 15 Feb might go over and say hi.
