This may take a while as I own so many books which I'd highly recommend! Had a look through the current list, and the Pony Club Manual of Horsemanship is very good. It's a "general allround" book so it's very handy.

BHS Book of the Natural Horse by Sarah Widdicombe is a good starter, I've just got Wendy Jago's What Horses do for Us, it seems pretty good, she has done a lot of research and uses the work of lots of experts - Paul Belasik, Stephen Budainsky, Linda Kohanov, Mark Rashid and many more. All the above authors are excellent, also love Perry Wood, and "Why talk to a Guru when you can whisper to a horse" Paul Hunting. Shall I go on................

A good few of my favourite books / authors have already been quoted here. I particularly love Mark Rachid's books, but especially "Life lessons from a ranch horse". The Soul of the horse by Joe Camp is an excellent and thought provoking book on natural horse care and natural boarding. I am currently reading Dancing with your Dark Horse by Chris Irwin, it's excellent. A few books that haven't been quoted yet: Natural horse care, by Pat Coleby is a very usefull book, full of information on nutritional solution to common health problems. I have read Peter Ramey's "Making Natural Hoofcare work for you" about 5 times (and probably will read it again). Essential reading for any would be barefoot trimmer. Another good book on barefoot is "Feet First, barefoot performance and hoof rehabilitation" by Nic Baker and Sarah Braithwaite. It's full of backgroung information for anyone thinking about going barefoot, but note that it isn't a trimming manual. And of course there's Jaime Jackson books. For those into liberty work, KF hempfling's "Dancing with horses" is good, but my latest find in that field, "Galloping to freedom", by Frederic Pignon and Magali Delgado is even better.
