Took this photo on Saturday - He was very annoyed at me for taking off his cosy rugs! It isn't the best photo sorry (and please excuse the mist effect), but hopefully you can give me a few "pointers". He's a 16.1hh, 11 year-old Danish Warmblood by Andiamo, and I'm currently only riding him three times a week due to school He's very difficult to keep weight on, so I'd also appreciate some opinions on his current condition Thanks in advance

OK, if no one else is going to answer, I'll be brave! but you musn't take offense........... Nice general shape of a horse, good strong back - it looks as though he is a bit withers high, but it would be easier to tell if he was standing square. Nice set of tail, good strong quarters, I don't see a problem with his weight, except there may be a bit much of it! He looks well barrelled up. Again, may be the way he is standing but it looks like his shoulders are loaded - is he a strong ride? Slight jumpers bump and I'd like to see that circle on his loins in real life, probably just a shadow. I'm not too keen on his feet, it looks like his heels are high, which may be giving the impression that he as back at the knee, and perhaps he is a bit light of bone for his weight?
But these are nit-picking - He looks a really nice type, tell us more about him.

Hi Caroline, I had part of a response written and lost it when I went to look for the name of your horse. Basicaly I was saying: I don't really know about confirmation but weight wise he (could not find his name) looks very very slightly on the heavy side to me. The rule of thumb I use is that I ought to be able to see and inmpression of their ribs - this said he looks like a horse that will loosse weight on the hind quarters before loosing it about his ribs (I would like to know if this is so). That said I never really see the ribs on my fillie.
Regards
Jim
