Really depends on size & shape of your horses mouth. I started mine in a halter, so I've been putting this issue off

Hiya, yep got this, and have loaned it out for the last day or two to a lovely horse who shakes his head a little. I'll let you know how it goes The main design of the bit is that its like a normal snaffle or french link, but instead of the pressure all being focused on the side of the horses mouth/lip here the bit comes out of the hroses mouth, beside of the circle ring on each side, the pressure gets distributed all around the side of the horses mouth & cheek.
