Saturday and Sunday, May 1-2
10am - 5pm daily
Full board accommodation and stabling available.
Bring your own horse or ride a school horse for an exciting weekend of learning and fun for you and your horse with reknowned Centered Riding Instructor Vanda Osterhuis, or book a private lesson with Vanda on Monday or Tuesday May 3rd and 4th.
Arrive Friday evening for a delicious home-cooked organic meal and a bit of Centered Riding and TTouch theory to start you off on the right foot. You'll get a little background knowledge and a good night's sleep before a long day on Saturday.
Saturday
Vanda will start on Saturday with ground exercises for the rider:
Is your weight evenly divided when you are sitting or standing?
Are you crooked or well balanced, how do you breathe?
What are you doing with your body and how does that influence the way your horse reacts?
We will then ride in two groups. Vanda will focus on your seat and help you to become aware of your posture and the way you move with (or against ...) the horse. She will give you many exercises to make your riding a joyful experience. In the afternoon, we will do exercises in hand with the horses to learn how to improve a horse's balance and make it more supple. You will work in a pair with a horse and if the horses allow it you can experience a bit of bareback riding.
Sunday
The program on Sunday will be more or less the same but with more individual attention. The focus will be on how to achieve a good, balanced and supple seat in the saddle and, most importantly, how to know that you have achieved that! With the groundwork you learn more about the body language of both yourself and the horse and about the TTouch, a gentle way of making a horse more aware of its body.
Over the course of both days you will learn a lot about yourself: how you move and breathe, whether you are well balanced, how you influence the horse when riding. And, of course, how to do it even better! And you learn about horses: how does the horse move and breathe, how well is it balanced?
Cost of the 2 day clinic: €150
Includes all instruction, use of a horse, and a home-cooked organic lunch both days. €50 deposit required.
Stabling: €10/day
Private lesson (Monday or Tuesday May 10th and 11th): €45
About the instructor:
