I wanted to share with you all this lovely essay from Lesley Desmond entitled "Gratitude".
"There are some things that it isn't possible to learn without the help of a horse. Might be hard to imagine but the world that a horse can open up for someone is not possible to describe and you can't actually read enough about it, or hear enough about it to know what its like unless you're in it. The connection that you can have with a horse because he offers it to you is like nothing else in this world. I can't imagine a world without them actually and one of the things i have learned from the horse that i dont think i would have learnt otherwise is the difference between taking and receiving. I'm sure there is some philosophical implication to that but even if you just don't buy into all of that stuff, next time someone takes a horse from you see whether they take the lead rope out of your hand or wait for you to present it to them"
