Hello everyone I am Sue and am owned by a bunch of rescue animals, including a 5 year old, 15.1hh thoroughbred mare Willow whom i have just "broken" (sorry, just hate that term) during the summer. There are also two rescue ponies (Spirit and BabyGirl), two rescue dogs (Ozzie and Dakota) and five rescue cats (Scamp, Skip, Sweeney, Licks and Shadow).. Considering what Willow has been through I think, from early reading, what you are doing with the natrual horsemanship, is the way to go with her.. and as i am only getting back into horses after a loooooooooong time i am open to any tips you may have! Sue

Hello & welcome I think once you figure out what goes on in a horse's head, why they do stuff, and then try to work with them based on this, and be fair and patient you're on the right track. Sounds like you've your hands full anyway!

Hi Elaine,
Thanks - yep, not usually many dull moments around here :-) Willow and I had been doing pretty well (considering how rusty I am..) but last week, when once again she was not interested in leaving home, we 'clashed' with me eventually exiting stage left.. sometimes you literally need to knock your head off the ground before you learn.. so here I am :-)
have had a nosy round your site and already found a few helpful bits, reckon there is more there to be discovered..

Cool. Lisa is down in your neck of the woods if you need a hand anyway. Also I think Sean & Lisa are doing a clinic in Dingle this month (coming up) if you went to watch you'd definitely get more ideas. Its one thing to read about it, but another to see it in action, in terms of timing, feel and releases, etc.
