mare is shivering

We have a mare with a balance problem. The vet said it was shivering. The hoofs look really bad, she needs a ferrier. But she can't stand on three feet as she starts falling.
I heard that in this case people hang horses with special thing over their stomach.
But I think that in Ireland they don't have those things.
Could you help me?

Hiya, sorry no idea. What did the vet say was causing it? I did a quick google but didn't find much except a horse & hound thing but it didn't have any answers.

Have you figured out what the problem is? Is it related to her feet or to some other problem.
Its common for a horse just out of shoes to quiver for a day or so, but it should pass.
Maybe its something totally unrelated.
