Hi all! Went out for my 1st Hack in a while with Molly my irish draft yesterday. With it being out 1st time out in a while she was all go. Was going good until we met a scrambler bike on the road, I heard it coming and felt Molly starting to tense up. While the scrambler was going past she gave a wee rear and was dancing about a bit. What would be the best way to get her used to motorbikes. She was ok after that. ;D

Hello piper4uk Glad to hear you got out of that one safely , one way is by using a chain saw ( YES A CHAIN SAW) with out the chain ,this simulates the engine and can be used at varying distances ,this will help to desensitise ( use the same method as, say a plastic bag ,advance and retreat ) Have fun.

Or you could call Tony The advance & retreat is really what you need to crack, basically the idea is when the horse is brave (even a tiny bit brave), you take the scary thing away & build it up slowly then so the horse gets more confidence.
