hi there, where in Mayo are you?? i'm in south Mayo, only just over the border from Co Galway, nearest Galway town is Headford, nearest Mayo town is Ballinrobe (that is about 20mins from me by car. i'm brand new here and feel very alone in my journey as i keep my horse myself (not part of a yard environment) and would love to network with other natural horsemanshippers near enough to me. hope you get this reply! =)

Hi Neighbours I am in Mayo too. I can see the lights of Westport from my window, but there's a fait bit of water in between, because I am on an island, which makes it difficult to get to anywhere. I love having visitors, though. We have 7 horses, mostly Connies, but also a shetland x for the kids, an IDx and a TBx (for fun). 5 of the horses can be ridden, and one of them is occasionnally driven as well. The remaining 2 are youngsters that we bred ourselves and that I am keeping, hoping to start them at some point, when I have time All our horses are kept barefoot, I do the trimming myself, and I am in the habit of making a complete nuisance of myself trying to convince every horse owners I come in contact with to take their horses shoes off immediatly (you have been warned). I am happy to advises / help anyone who is thinking of going the barefoot route and lives in Mayo or North Galway (no, I am not looking for work). See my website at www. ecofarm.ie/horses, my contact details are there, and if you are in the area, you are welcome to call by.
