We flew out to see Kelly Marks and Monty Roberts at the Your Horse Live Show on Fri November 7th. It was amazing and so worth it. Has anyone else been to the demos? I'd love to yap about it! What I like about Kelly and Monty are the principles behind teaching people how to communicate with their horse/s, the trailer loading demos are testament to that. I found a great website, www.horsehero.com, where you can see Kelly in action.  |

The focus this year was on Monty's 'grandchildren' as he refers to them. These are students who have studied with Kelly Marks (Monty's student) and are now recommended associates helping people across the u.k.
There were two demos on the day following the same format but with different horses and different students.
One of the horses was such a bad loader, she had to be hacked to the show 35miles!
You can imagine the relief of the owner to be able to load her horse on and off the lorry by the end of the demo.
The format was; one lorry, one round pen, one 'L' shape set of poles on the ground, one large piece of plastic sheeting folded small to start with, six panels in an hour glass shape and the board(to simulate the feel and sound of a lorry/trailer ramp.
The students worked with the horses while Monty and Kelly gave a commentary.
It was brilliant to be able to talk to Monty and Kelly afterwards at their stand along with the students, they were all very approachable.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it The book's NEARLY done! Just doing final editing at the minute, so once the artworks in hopefully in the next week it'll be off to the printers All going well should have a copy in my hands at the end of Nov! |
