Ive just been given a jumping mare on loan. She hasnt done much in about 6 months but has competed at cavan and millstreet in the past. The main thing with her is that shes very quick to react to things and spook, even if there isnt anything that i can see to spook at. I know its probably a lot to do with her natural instincts, but i was wondering if anyone knew of any good excercises for groundwork and ridden work to try to get her to settle and become a little more left brained. I have a few excercises i will try with her, but if anyone else had any good ones i could try, it would be very appreciated. Jenny

Hi Jenharvy there are no QUICK FIXES for for the behaviour you are experiencing, however if you go to problem solving page and then under right brain extrovert drop down to the 14th item and follow that info then both mare and your self should benefit .

Everything you can think of then, both getting her used to scary stuff and also getting her used to being near high energy (scary stuff going really fast).
