Due to the unprecedented increase in cruelty and neglect cases involving horses and ponies, the ISPCA decided earlier this year, to open a second Equine Rescue facility, based in Dromsligo, Mallow, Co. Cork. The development of this Centre was made possible by a wonderful bequest made by Mr. Victor Dowling, a Veterinary Surgeon who practiced in the Mallow area for many years. He left his entire farm of 60 acres, with a bungalow, stables and a hay barn to the ISPCA.
There are now 17 horses and ponies on site, many of these are ready for re-homing.
The new Centre will be officially opened this Sunday 2nd September, and is open to visitors from 2 to 5pm.
Vanessa Bee will be demonstrating Positive Horsemanship, and Heather McReynolds will give an introduction to Equine Touch.
You are all invited to attend!

A great day down in Mallow at the opening. Lovely premises and the ISPCA are blessed to have it . It was lovely to see the horses and ponies to be at ease and to have such a sanctuary enjoying the company of fellow equines. Great work by all the lovely staff and volunteers down there . A great turnout of people for the opening.
Absolutley brilliant demos carried out by Vanessa Bee of Positive Horsemanship with understanding of traumatised horses and Ponies they were brilliant to watch and appeared to be thoroughly enjoyed by everyone there.
Basic Skills 1 course on the Monday was excellent & everyone learned so much. Such a Positive Experience!!
For anyone wanting more there will be more course run down there soon !!
