Hi!
Does anyone know if I can get linseed as a horsefeed? None of the feed merchants seem to know. They look at me as if I was from mars when I ask for it!
Thanks
Silka

Do you mean linseed as a seed or as a prepared oil? You're more likely to get the oil at a good saddlers than at a feed merchants as it's seen as a supplement. I've seen the seed in Tesco's organic, but you know it needs to be well soaked and boiled before feeding?

I looked for ages when I first came over for micronised linseed with no luck so if anyone knows where I can get that I'd be eternally grateful.
Micronised is treated in a way that retains all/most of it's nutrient value not just the oil.

Thanks intouch. generally the postage is more or nearly, than the linseed (or magnesium) I was hoping there was a supplier in Ireland.

It would be great if you got the Franchise mariab!! I used SS sometimes in England but they only deliver and don't post out even over there.

Tac shops might be the best place to get linseed oil or a feed shop owned by a horse owner. happy hunting!

I too would like to get linseed as a feed supplement as its supposed to be good for sweet itch, but I can't find it In Ireland either. The oil is not as good because it doesn't have all the nutrients, but is probably better than nothing.
I got 5 litres of linseed oil for 15 euros from Star fuels in Clonmel, but I think some larger tack shops sell it too.
