Hello, I am running the mini marathon on June 1st for the ISPCA. The ISPCA National Animal Centre charity is a very worthy cause and I would very much appreciate your support in helping me to raise funds for this charity. You can donate online here: www.mycharity.ie/event/elaine_heneys_eventAny donation no matter how small is hugely appreciated. Many thanks in advance for your support. If anyone else is thinking of running it as well let me know Elaine ______________________________________ ABOUT ISPCAISPCA National Animal Centre The ISPCA (Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) rescues, rehabilitates and re-homes some of Ireland’s most neglected and cruelty treated animals. In 2002 the ISPCA National Animal Centre in County Longford was opened. This purpose built animal rehabilitation centre is home to some of Ireland’s most abused animals. The ISPCA operates a National Animal Cruelty Helpline 1890 515 515 and deals with a large number of phone calls each week. We have four Animal Welfare Inspectors for the entire country who along with our affiliated societies investigate animal welfare complaints of cruelty, neglect and abuse. When a call is received from a concerned member of the public about an animal who has been subjected to mistreatment, one of our four Inspectors or an inspector from an affiliated society will investigate the complaint which depending on the severity of the case can end up with the owner being prosecuted for cruelty.
