Hi Elaine - one way to contribute is via the ISPCA website.. they have a rather useful shop where you can donate by, for example, buying food to feed a horse for a month, farrier treatment, hay, shavings etc.. also, if anyone is looking to get a horse.. rehoming one from their website is an option (my mare is from the cork centre).. other than that - a sponsored ride (though most of us are spread around the country).. or could we all get our local riding club to do a sponsored ride? IRISH HORSE CHARITIES NEED HELP A MESSAGE FROM CATHY, FROM THE ISPCA Jan 26th 2011The ISPCA took in 22 horses within 48 hours, and 30 within the past 2 weeks. They also had to put several to sleep in the fields where they lay, as they were too far gone to save. This is a crisis beyond imagination. The Society Inspectors…… and the Rescue Centres are stretched beyond their capacity. Any of you who have horses, please consider taking in an extra rescue horse, even just for the winter, to make room in the Rescue Centres? Is there anyone with a farm and a large Barn which could be made into a loose house for a few horses? Folks, NOW is the time to help the horses that REALLY need you! The other Equine Rescues are also under the same pressure – there just are NOT ENOUGH places for the horses that need help. Money (donate online at ISPCA website), feed and fostering healthy horses are the best ways you can help. Please pass on to all your contacts. www.ispca.ie/news_detail.aspx?footer=1&news_id=310--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
