Equine dentist Maria came down to Tipperary today to do my two horses. Ozzie was described as a "gentleman" and seemed to enjoy the whole process! (Wonders will never cease). Dougal had some sharp teeth at the back of his mouth which I hadn't realised, and would had started to causes problems, but they are all fixed now. Would definitely recommend Maria to come and check your horses if they haven't seen a dentist in 12 months or more. Very reasonable, very patient and kind with horses and DEFINITELY worth it to make sure your horses are healthy and comfortable. Tell her Ozzie sent you www.equinedentist.ie

Also - oddly Oz tenses up/braces his tongue a LOT when Maria was putting her hand in to check his teeth.
When I ride him, he is always a lot softer through his body (loose muscles, no resistance, no tension, feels soft) ridden in the halter (no bit) than in his bridle (bit). So when he has a bit in his mouth he obviously tenses up his tongue and that then creates tension throughout his whole body.
I always knew he was much softer (went better) ridden in a halter, now I know why!
