YARD MANAGER
Recruiting a yard manager for a new and professional livery yard/equestrian center in Dunsfold, Surrey with incredible facilities. A fantastic opportunity for someone who loves working with horses and wants to be involved in developing a superb equestrian facility with a high emphasis on customer service. Requirements:
Experienced with horses as well as understanding all schooling and fitness aspects involved with all types including (hunters, showjumpers, eventers, dressage, young horses)
BHS AI – minimum requirement
Professional teaching and training qualifications
Familiar with some Monty Roberts/Kelly Marks methods as well as concept of natural horsemanship.
Characteristics
- Good with people and horses – important as having a nice manner with the clients is vital for the success of the business
- Kind with horses – no cruelty to horses will be tolerated at any point
- Professional manner
- Efficient
- Confident
- Patient
- Observant
- Organized
- Helpful
Duties
Able to organize staff and maintain a proper schedule involving care/ feeding/ turnout/exercise of all horses
Be involved and knowledgeable in all aspects of horse care including riding, schooling horses and teaching clients
Understand paddock rotation/ maintenance/worming
Able to deal with problem horses and youngsters in training
Be knowledgeable and able to advise in organization of various equestrian shows and activities including but not exclouding dressage, showjumping, cross country, gymkhanas, Pony Club.
